A leaking lake has led to the evacuations of several homes near Evarts. Harlan County Emergency Management Director David McGill tells WYMT they don’t yet know why the lake at the Louellen Fish and Gaming Club appears to be leaking but about 10 homes have had to be evacuated with a shelter at the Louellen Pentecostal Fellowship Hall and the Red Cross is helping out. McGill says they have pumps operating to corral the water. Harlan County Judge-Executive Dan Mosley has declared a State of Emergency.
