Tresea Lynn Whitaker

Tresea Lynn Whitaker, age 70, of Whitesburg, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home. 

She is survived by 1 Son: Venson Craig Whitaker of Leatherwood; 1 Brother: Greg Johnson of Harlan; 2 Grandchildren: Hunter Craig Whitaker and Melanie Coots. 

Funeral services for Tresea Lynn Whitaker will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Fields and Danny Dixon officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Caudill Cemetery at Little Leatherwood.

Ronnie Lee Collins

Ronnie Lee Collins, age 74, of Whitesburg, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Whitesburg ARH. 

He is survived by 3 daughters: Marla Wesson of Whitesburg, Donna Townsend of Lexington and Carla Fleming of Whitesburg; brother and best friend: Edward Neil (Buddy) Collins of Whitesburg; brother: Jerry Collins of Lexington; 2 sisters: Joan Collins and Janice Baker both of Miamisburg, Ohio; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service for Ronnie Lee Collins will be held at 1:00pm Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Fleming, Gary Joe Collins and Bill Craft officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Thursday, February 22, 2024  at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

“Jim” James Noah Marcum 

“Jim” James Noah Marcum, age 65, formerly of Letcher County, passed away on Wednesday February 7, 2024, in Johnson City, Tennessee. 

He is survived by his children: James Derrick Marcum, Shawn Allen Marcum and Samantha Lynn Marcum; his siblings: Della Marcum Johnson, Jeffery Allen Marcum and Julia Marcum Giles.

A memorial service for “Jim” James Noah Marcum will be held at 2:00pm Friday February 23rd, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg.

Alma Watts

Alma Watts, age 84, of Cornettsville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by 1 Daughter: Lynn Adams of Isom; 1 Son: Casey Watts of Cornettsville, KY; 1 Sister: Marie Halcomb of Cornettsville and 2 Grandchildren. 

Funeral services for Alma Watts will be held at 1:00pm, this afternoon, Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Big Leatherwood Old Regular Baptist Church with Danny Dixon & Scotty Halcomb officiating. 

Burial will be in the Watts Family Cemetery at Linefork.

Vickie Foutch

Vickie Foutch, age 77, of Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, February 18th, 2024, at her residence.

She is survived by 1 son: Ed Rutherford; 2 grandsons; 2 sisters: Earlene Fernicola and Marie Hoskins and 2  brothers: Winston Yeary and John Yeary. 

A Celebration of Life for Vickie Foutch from 5:00-7:00pm this evening, Thursday, February 22nd, at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home in Cumberland with Funeral Services starting at 7:00pm this evening, Thursday with Glenn Cornett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make all contributions and donations in Vickie’s name to the Bluegrass Care Navigators.

Cathy Gibson, age 70, passed away on Sunday February 18, 2024 departed this life on Sunday February 18, 2024 at the Whitesburg ARH.

She is survived by 1 daughter: Jessica Lynn Wright of Ghent, KY; 1 Brother: Earnest Gibson of Viper; 1 niece and 1 nephew.  

Visitation for Cathy Gibson will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday February 24, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard.

Memorial Services will follow at 1:00pm Saturday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard with Earnest Gibson officiating.  

A private burial will follow after the service.
