A Pike County man is set to face charges in connection with a 2023 stabbing. Johnny Gibson of Virgie is charged with assault as well as being a persistent felony offender for the February 2023 incident in which a woman alleged he’d stabbed her during an argument. Mountain Top News reports Gibson had actually been indicted in October, but he was in jail for a probation violation from a drug arrest in Lawrence County. He was recently released from that and was then reportedly arrested for Pike County.
