April is Spring Clean Up Month in Letcher County. The Judge Executive reminds you residents can dispose of unwanted items at the Letcher County Transfer Station at no charge, although there are restrictions and a charge on large building materials and for car and truck tires.
Clean-Up Month runs until April 30 with the Landfill hours Monday through Saturday 9am to 2pm. April is the only month the transfer station is open on Saturdays.
Meanwhile in Whitesburg there is also an official Clean Up Day on Saturday April 13. Meet at City Hall at 9am that day. They ask that you call them to get signed up.
