Caitlin Pennington broke a scoreless tie with a solo homerun to left field in the top of the 6th inning to lift the Breathitt County Lady Bobcats to a 1-0 14th Region win over the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars at LCC.
Alyssa Nicely took the loss for LCC but pitched a great game. She went 7 innings, giving up 1 run on two hits with 17 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Breathitt County improves to 11-5 and the Lady Cougars fall to 10-9.
LCC softball will be back on action tonight at home in a district game against 6-10 Knott County Central for their first matchup of the season.
