Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines says a recent visit from a former drug offender was a blessing and wants to report the man is doing well. Stines says the young man stopped by to thank the Sheriff’s Office for saving his life when after his arrest about four years ago he was sent to treatment. Stines says the man has been clean for four years. He says while deputies have removed more than nine pounds of meth from the county in the last five years, their main goal is to get everyone off of it for good. The Sheriff says anyone who needs help can simply come to his office and ask for it.
