Norman Keith Collins, age 56, of Partridge, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at his residence. 

He is survived by his mother: Jenny Galloway Maggard; 2 sons: Earl Keith Collins of Cowan and Douglas Estill Collins of Morristown, Tennessee; 1 daughter: Katie Lou Collins of Jenkins; 2 brothers: Robbie Estill Collins of Kingscreek and Jason Earl Collins of Thornton and 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Norman Keith Collins will be held at 11:00am Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home with Dock Frazier officiating. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Galloway Family Cemetery at Partridge.

Jill Ellen Day, age 68, of Kingscreek passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Stephanie Meade of Kingscreek and Tracy Seals of Jeremiah; daughter in law: Richelle Meade of London; step daughter: Brooke Whitaker of Sandlick; step son: Wade Day of Sevierville, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Randy Shivers and Robbie Shivers both of Guernsey County, Ohio; 1 sister: Linda McClay of Guernsey County, Ohio.

Funeral services for Jill Ellen Day will be held at 2:00pm this afternoon, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Caudill officiating.

Effie Lee Maxie

Effie Lee Maxie, age 94, of Thornton, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.  

She is survived by 5 daughters: Jewell Holland of Whitesburg, Margaret Rudd of Thornton, Sharon Maxie of Elizabethtown, KY, Karen Jolly of Ball Ground, Georgia and Diane Pratt of Thornton; 3 sons: Walter Holland of Walcottville, Indiana, Donnie Carl Maxie of Sandlick and Robert Lee Maxie of Sandlick; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services for Effie Lee Maxie will be held at 12:00 noon today, Wednesday June 26, 2024 at the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church with Buford Combs officiating.

Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

The Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Willie Lamb, age 100, of McRoberts, passed away in Akron, Ohio, on Saturday, June 22, 2024. 

Memorial services for Willie Lamb will begin at 12:00PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Church of God Militant Pillar and Ground of Truth in Akron, Ohio.

Visitation will begin on Saturday July 6 at 11:00am until the time of service at the Church. 

A visitation service for Willie Lamb will be held locally on Sunday July 7 with time and location to be determined.

Dorothy Jean Roark, age 80, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

She is survived by her husband Garland; 1 son: Kelly Roark of Elizabethtown; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

A funeral service for Dorothy Jean Roark will be held at 6:00pm

this evening, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon, Indiana with Scott Chastain officiating. 

Visitation will be this afternoon, Wednesday from 4:00pm until the time of the service. 

The burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, in the Morgan Jones Family Cemetery at Ingrams Creek here in Letcher County.

Linda Ann Toler Dales, age 42, of Jenkins passed away June 15, 2024, at her residence in Harriman Tennessee. 

She is survived by her husband: Joshua Dales of Tennessee; one daughter: Joshalynn Dales of Tennessee; two biological daughters: Robbin and Angelica Carter of Virgina; one sister: Stephanie Carter; one nephew: Mackenzie Carter of Virginia, one great nephew and two great nieces.

Memorial services for Linda Toler Dales will be held at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home Jenkins Chapel, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 7:00pm.
