It’s a hung jury in the murder trial of a former assistant Pike County attorney accused of murdering his wife.
The trial began last week in Pike Circuit Court for Donald Deskins who is accused of killing his wife Judith in 2021.
He was indicted for murder and tampering with evidence in 2023.
Prosecutors say Judith Deskins died from being hit in the head several times which resulted in a broken neck.
The defense says there was no history of domestic violence, no weapon was ever found, and her injuries were from a fall.
After two days of deliberations this week, jurors informed the judge they were hopelessly deadlocked.
There is a hearing next month to discuss what’s next.
