Prestonsburg Dentist Arrested in Murder Case Has License Suspended

A Prestonsburg dentist arrested on allegations of helping to cover up the murder of a woman at his home has had his dental license suspended.

Dr. Michael McKinney was arrested last week and charged with seven counts of complicity to tampering with physical evidence that prosecutors allege was related to the murder of Amber Spradlin for which McKinney’s son is charged.

On Thursday McKinney was released to home confinement after posting a $250,000 bond.

On Friday the Kentucky Board of Dentistry announced it is opening its own investigation into McKinney and informed him his license to practice is suspended although he is allowed to maintain his office.
