Some Courthouse Offices Have Reopened Following Thursday’s Shooting

Some offices in the Letcher County Courthouse have reopened after being closed following the shooting death of District Judge Kevin Mullins.

The Letcher County Judge-Executive’s office, property value administrator’s office and county clerk’s office are open although Letcher County Clerk Winston Meade announced they are limited in some services such as out-of-state transfers or anything that needs inspection.

Meanwhile the Kentucky Supreme Court says that the Letcher County Court System will
be closed until Monday September 30 and any time-sensitive cases will be extended.
