Some communities in Letcher County have lost water as a result of Hurricane Helene.
On Sunday morning Letcher County Water and Sewer reported they’d lost power to the pump station that provides water to the tank that supplies Pert Creek, Wrights Mountain and Pine Mountain with those areas eventually losing water.
Officials say the water will be restored when the power is restored but then those areas will be under a boil water advisory.
