There is new help for those grappling with addiction in Letcher County.
Recovery organization Help End Addiction for Life or HEAL has a new recovery hub in Whitesburg on East Main Street next to Whitesburg City Hall.
HEAL President Dr. Sydney Whitaker tells WYMT one of the challenges of addiction recovery is having it easily available to those who need it when they are ready for it and location can be an issue so they are happy to have the Whitesburg location to give people more options.
And he says those who run some of their services and groups have been in recovery themselves and are peer support specialists.
HEAL’s Hub is open Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.
