The opening round semifinal games of the boys and girls 14th region soccer tournaments were played on Saturday at Perry County Central.
In the early game, the Letcher County Central Lady Cougars and Powell County played through double overtime tied at 1-1.
An LCC penalty kick after double OT gave the Lady Cougars the win 2-1 over Powell County.
Estill County beat Perry County Central 7-0 in the second girls semifinal on Saturday.
The LCC girls will now take on Estill County in the 14th Region Girls Soccer Championship game this Wednesday at 6:30pm at Perry County Central.
Estill County is 13-5-4 and Letcher County Central is 10-6-1.
Estill and LCC girls have not played this year in the regular season.
In the boys 14th Region Soccer Tournament seminfinals Saturday, Letcher County Central lost to Powell County 8-0 and Jackson City got by Perry County Central 3-2.
The LCC boys soccer season comes to a close with a 7-11 record.
So Thursday at 6:30pm at Perry County Central, Jackson City will take on Powell County for the 14th Region Soccer Tournament championship.
Powell County is 14-3 and Jackson City is 13-8.
