The Fleming-Neon Water District is undergoing a multi-phase project to repair and replace aging waterlines that have caused leaks and water outages.
Thanks to a $5 million grant, the second phase is set to begin in early 2025, with the entire project expected to be completed by 2029.
Replacing the more than 40-year-old lines will improve water quality, reduce water waste, and help prevent future water shortages like the one experienced last winter.
The project aims to conserve water and reduce the need for ongoing repairs.
