Florene L. Smith

Florene L. Smith, age 95 of Whitesburg, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024, at her residence.

She is survived by 3 sons: Carroll Smith of Kingdom Come Creek, Herby Smith of Pine Mountain, and Timothy Smith of La Grange; 5 daughters: Beverly Dawahare of Lexington, Charlotte Brown of Dry Fork, Susan Childre of Jacksonville, Florida, Sally Souerbeck of La Grange, and Mary Meade of Winchester; 1 brother: Glenn Isom of Frankfort; 1 sister: Amelia Bone of Campbellsville; 14 grandchildren along with a host of great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Florene L. Smith will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Whitesburg First Baptist Church with Tony Brown officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00pm Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Whitesburg First Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Pendleton Cemetery at Ermine.

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Theda Jean Fleming

Theda Jean Fleming, age 89, of Jenkins, passed away on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at the UK Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

She is survived by 2 sons: Jerry Fleming of Tuscaloosa, AL and Scott Fleming of Pikeville; 5 grandchildren: Zachary Fleming, Shelly Fleming-Morris, Michael Wayne Fleming, Brian Keith Fleming and Kelly Jo Fleming- Brown and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services Theda Jean Fleming will be held at 7:00 pm this evening, Thursday October 31, 2024, at the Burdine Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Frank Hall officiating.

Visitation will be this evening, Thursday, from 5:00pm until time of services at 7:00pm.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday November 1, 2024 at the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.

Allie “Molly” Fields

Allie “Molly” Fields, age 78, Cumberland, passed away on Monday October 28, 2024, at her residence.

She is survived by 2 sons: Billy Joe Fields of Totz and James Clayton Fields of Cumberland; 2 daughters: Patricia Halcomb of Cumberland and Jacqueline Hammons of Berea; 2 brothers: Boyd Coots of Cumberland and Jordan Coots of Dione; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00pm today, Thursday, October 31 from at the Gilliam Chapel Baptist Church in Cumberland.

Funeral services for Allie “Molly” Fields will follow at 1:00pm this afternoon, Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Gilliam Chapel Baptist Church in Cumberland with Jonathan Monhollen officiating.

Burial will follow in the Huff Cemetery at  Cumberland .

Dolly Smallwood

Dolly Smallwood, age 86, of Beefhide, passed away Saturday October 26, 2024, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard.

She is survived by 3 children:  Gwendolyn Jean Moore, Edgar Neil Robinson, and Dale Robinson. Also three grandsons, Joshua Neal Mullins, Seth Channing Mullins, and Edgar Neil Robinson Jr.

She is also survived by three brothers, Harold Smallwood of Caney, Willie Smallwood of Lick Fork and David “Bug “ Smallwood of Brushy Fork and one sister, Mildred Bentley of Beefhide.

Visitation will begin after 6:00pm this evening, Thursday, at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home at Virgie with services starting tonight at 7:00PM.

Funeral services for Dolly Smallwood will be held at 1:00PM on Friday November 1, 2024, at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home at Virgie with Garrett Mullins, David Tackett and Steve Smallwood officiating.

Burial will follow in the Smallwood Cemetery at Brushy Fork.

Jerry Lynn Caudill, age 70, of Viper, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Bell Caudill; One Daughter: Deborah Joseph of Viper; One Son: Jeffery Caudill of Viper; Two Sisters: Bernice Wright of Viper & Clara Bolin of Viper; One Brother: Enos Caudill of Viper; Four Grandchildren and Six Step Grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 4:00pm, this afternoon, Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Middle Fork Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Jerry Lynn Caudill will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Middle Fork Church of Christ with Mike Hall & Karl Baker officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ben Cornett Cemetery at Viper.
