KY Senate District 29 Race Appears to Have Been Won by Pineville Mayor Scott Madon

Some ballots are still being counted in the race for State Senate District 29 which was all write-in candidates for the seat that covers Letcher, Bell, Floyd, Harlan and Knott Counties, but it looks as though Pineville Mayor Scott Madon is on the road to victory with 35% of the vote.

Madon had been backed by Congressman Hal Rogers as well as the family of State Senator Johnnie Turner who held the seat and was running for reelection until his death last month.

The second place finisher looks to be Floyd County businessman and pastor Willie Crase, with 15% of the vote.

Letcher County attorney James Tyler Ward, Pikeville attorney Tanner Hesterberg and Knott County attorney Justin Noble, who was endorsed by Governor Andy Beshear, came in at about 10%.
