A Hazard Community and Technical College leader has been tapped to serve on the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s Board of Regents.
Robert Higdon is a student ambassador at HCTC and previously served on the local board of directors.
He will now serve as a student regent on the KCTCS’s Board of Regents, representing 85,000 students across the Commonwealth.
He says he himself came back to school as a nontraditional learner, after years of being in the workforce and starting a family.
He says he wanted to finish his education to give his kids a better life and wants to bring
that perspective as a father and nontraditional student to the Board of Regents
