Kathleen “Kathy” Cornett, age 86, of Blackey, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her residence.
She is survived by her husband: Elwood Cornett; 2 grandchildren: Katie Ellane and Melanie Watts; nieces and nephews: Bobby Gene, Frank, Patricia, and Leigh.
Funeral Services for Kathleen “Kathy” Cornett will be held at 11:00am this morning, Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the Mt. Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church at Blackey with James Caudill, Danny Dixon, Toby Breeding, and others officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cornett Cemetery at Blackey.

Aster Smith, age 87, of Linefork, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cumberland.
He is survived by his children: Shelia Breeding of Premium and Stanley Halcomb of Stanford; 1 brother: Garland Smith; 1 sister: Cassie Shepherd; seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Tri City Funeral Home at Benham.
Funeral services for Aster Smith will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Halcomb Family Cemetery at Linefork.

Lovella Lynn Adams Engle, age 51, passed away on Wednesday December 18, 2024 at the Hazard ARH.
She is survived by her significant other, Steven Caudill of Viper; 2 sons: Anthony Williams of Yeaddiss and Casey Lee Williams of Slemp; 1 daughter: Holly Marie Caldwell of Hyden; 1 brother: Jerry Daniel Adams of Slemp; 2 sisters: Melissa Hibbard of Leatherwood and Kimberly Kaye Griffith of Leatherwood and 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 6:00pm this Thursday December 26, 2024 at the Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church.
Funeral Services for Lovella Lynn Adams Engle will be held at 1:00pm on Friday December 27, 2024 at the Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church with Eddie Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Beech Fork Cemetery at Slemp.
