Scott Madon Officially Sworn into Office as Senator for District 29

FRANKFORT, KY (Jan. 8, 2025) — Sen. Scott Madon, R-Pineville, officially took the oath of office on Tuesday afternoon, marking the start of his service as the senator for the 29th District, which includes Bell, Floyd, Harlan, Knott, and Letcher counties. The swearing-in ceremony coincided with the General Assembly convening for the 2025 Regular Session.

Madon was joined by several family members, friends, and colleagues as he took his oath in the Senate Chamber, administered by Chief Justice Debra Lambert.

“I am humbled and honored to serve the people of District 29 in the Kentucky Senate,” said Madon. “This opportunity is a privilege, and I will work tirelessly to ensure the voices of our communities are heard. Together, we can tackle the challenges ahead and build a brighter future for eastern Kentucky.”

The 2025 30-day legislative session, also known as the “short session,” runs through March 30.

Madon won the write-in election in November for State Senate District 29 in a 2-week campaign that featured several other candidates, after the death of incumbent Johnny L. Turner.
