Former Pike County Superintendent Joins Center For Rural Development

Former Pike County School District Superintendent Reed Atkins has joined the board of directors for the Center for Rural Development.

The Appalachian News Express reports Atkins, who retired from Pike County, says the Center’s decisions are guided by what is best for Kentucky, particularly Southern and Eastern Kentucky and he looks forward to working with them to make a lasting impact.

The Center for Rural Development is a nonprofit that was established by Congressman Hal Rogers to drive progress in public safety, events, arts and culture, leadership and technology.
