10 Counties, Including Letcher, Approved for Major Flood Disaster Declaration, Allowing Individual Assistance from FEMA

President Donald Trump has approved Governor Andy’s Beshear’s request for an Expedited Major Disaster Declaration which includes not only public assistance for local governments but also individual assistance for Kentuckians in the 10 counties affected by the most recent storms.

Those counties are Letcher, Breathitt, Clay, Harlan, Knott, Lee, Martin, Owsley, Perry and Pike Counties.

The expedited approval makes immediate-need and cleaning money open to those who qualify.

Residents and business owners can begin applying for assistance at the website
DisasterAssistance.gov, or by calling 800-621-FEMA or by using the FEMA App.
