Appalachia Service Project Receives Grant Money for Flood Rebuilding Projects

The non-profit Appalachia Service Project says they’ve gotten a more than $334,000 grant from the American Red Cross to help rebuild some Eastern Kentucky homes destroyed in the July 2022 flood. WYMT reports the money will be used to rebuild as many as 50 homes for low-income households. This year ASP has already built 48 new homes and done repairs on nearly 250. They have not yet announced where in Eastern Kentucky the new Red Cross grant will have them concentrating.
