The Appalachian Horse Project which has been working to handle the problem of free roaming horses for several years is going to be getting a home thanks to some help from the Perry County Fiscal Court.
The Court plans to use a horse farm it owns, the Miniard Farm in Cornettsville and lease it to the Appalachian Horse Project which officials tell WYMT it will serve as both a safe place for the horses and an eventual tourist attraction.
Future plans also include getting some of the horses adopted, providing educational activities for the community and some possible job training programs.
