The Appalshop Board of Directors has unanimously chosen interim executive director Tiffany Sturdivant to take the helm permanently as the new executive director.
In a statement on the cultural organization’s website, Sturdivant says for 55 years, Appalshop has symbolized the collective power of the region’s voices and creativity.
She says since the summer they have been working on their organizational health with Rural Support Partners which is a consulting organization rooted in Appalachia.
She says they are working to define the work of Appalshop for the next 50 years.
