As we reported Monday the trial is set to start July 14 for Howard Keith Hall who has pleaded not guilty to allegations that when he was the Pike County attorney, he hired an attorney that did no actual work for the County but received more than $440,000 in government salary and benefits.
The lawyer for a Pike Circuit Judge charged with mail fraud and theft of government
funds wants his trial delayed to have more time to prepare for it.
In a motion filed this week Hall’s attorney says he’s gotten the first batch of evidence from prosecutors and it already contains thousands of documents with much more to come.
The prosecution and judge have not yet responded to the delay request.
