A Pike County man is facing charges for allegedly opening fire on another man he
encountered while they were riding ATV’s.
It happened Sunday in the Stopover area.
Kentucky State Police say the victim told them he had been riding a side-by-side when
James Daugherty of Phelps pulled up beside him and an argument ensued between the
women they were with.
The victim alleges that later he saw Daugherty pull up to where he was staying and fire two shots, hitting the victim in the foot.
Troopers say Daugherty claims it was the victim who fired at him first but following an investigation he was charged with assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
