We are still awaiting confirmation as to whether a body found near Laurel Lake on
Friday afternoon is that of a man reported missing on May 4.
The Department of Fish and Wildlife says the body was recovered about 50 yards from where John Myrick’s boat capsized.
Officials tell WYMT Myrick and another man were fishing when their boat got too close to a dam, got caught in a current, and capsized.
The other man made it to shore and called 911 but Myrick has not been seen since.
