PIKEVILLE, Ky.(July 23, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a bridge replacement project at the intersection of KY 7 and County Road 1339 Blair Branch Rd in Letcher County.
The bridge is located at mile point 12.3 (at the junction of KY 7) on Blair Branch Rd.
Starting this week, traffic on Blair Branch Rd will be diverted onto a temporary diversion over Rockhouse Creek. Ky 7 will also be reduced to one lane on the Northbound section.
Onsite signals and the occasional use of flaggers will control traffic.
Crews began constructing the new bridge on July 18.
Work will take place Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm with some weekend work possible.
Motorists can expect delays during working hours for mobilization of equipment in and around the site.
Please pay close attention to signs and traffic control in and around the work zone.
Kay and Kay Construction have been contracted to perform the work.
Crews expect the project to be complete in late October.
Schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
