PIKEVILLE, Ky. (July 25, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a bridge replacement project on KY 317 in Letcher County. The bridge is located at mile point 2.8 near the intersection of Yonts Fork (2.8 miles North of KY 805).
Crews will remove the existing bridge starting Thursday, August 8. All motorists will need to detour for one week while crews install the new aluminum culvert. Once installation is complete, traffic will be allowed to cross while crews complete the rest of the project. Construction is scheduled to be completed in late October 2024.
Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5:30 pm with some weekend work possible. Motorists can expect delays during working hours for mobilization of equipment in and around the site. Please pay close attention to signs and traffic control in and around the work zone.
Hinkle Construction has been contracted to perform the work. Crews expect the project to be complete in late October.
