Cats Lose to Louisville in Battle of the Bluegrass

Denzel Aberdeen scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds, but No. 9 Kentucky lost at 12th-ranked Louisville 96-88 last night at the KFC Yum! Center.

Kentucky now 2-1 on the season got 12 points apiece from Collin Chandler and Otega Oweh.

No other Cat was in double figures.

The Cardinals led by as many as 20, but the Cats got within four, 88-84, with 4:02 to play.

But would get no closer, losing to Louisville in the battle of the bluegrass for the first time since 2020.

Kentucky returns to action on Friday night, hosting Eastern Illinois at Rupp Arena.

Tipoff is set for 7:00pm with pregame at 5:30pm here on the Bulldog.
