City of Fleming Neon Receives Grant Money for Water System Repair

Fleming-Neon is getting a major cash infusion to upgrade the water systems.

On Wednesday USDA Rural Development Kentucky State Director Travis Burton announced more than $16.8 million in grants for Fleming-Neon to fix and replace parts of its water system damaged in the July 2022 flooding.

WYMT reports there are four different grants that will repair and replace 40,200 feet of water main and attachments, manholes, sewer mains, service lines and meters plus more than 18,500 feet of 6-inch and 3-inch water lines and 43,000 feet of water lines, fixtures, hydrants and meters.
