City of Hazard Working On Grants For Water System Upgrade

Hazard officials are applying for a series of grants to upgrade the water system. The Hazard Herald reports the City Commission has voted to authorize filing nine grant applications totaling $7.5 million with the Kentucky Department for Local Government. Projects they hope to accomplish include a new water treatment plant transmission line for Buckhorn, waterline replacement for Walkertown and more. Officials say while the grant process is not immediate, they are optimistic about the direction they are going.
