City of Whitesburg Gets Wastewater Treatment Grant

The City of Whitesburg has received $2 million to go toward upgrading the wastewater
treatment plant.

Last week Mayor Tiffany Craft met with the governor to mark receipt of the funding that will go toward replacing and upgrading critical infrastructure serving nearly 1,000 households and 156 businesses.

The City says the money comes from the Abandoned Mine Lands Economic Revitalization Program, which is designed to support education, health care, infrastructure, and tourism in coal-impacted communities.
