Community Outdoor Project Grant Money Announced for Eastern Kentucky

Thousands of dollars will be coming to some Eastern Kentucky communities to help create more places to enjoy healthy outdoor activities.

On Tuesday Governor Andy Beshear announced $1.4 million for community projects to support healthy living.

Many of the programs will use recycled tires to create walking trails, playground surfaces,
playground gear and fitness areas.

The Governor’s Office says Floyd County will get $41,000 for a poured-in-place playground at Betsy Layne Community Park and Perry County will get $35,000 for a poured-in-place playground at Viper Community Park.
