Cougars Lose Tough One at Belfry, Will Host Taylor County This Friday to Open The Playoffs

The Letcher County Cengral Cougar football team played great at Belfry Friday night, but lost tot he Pirates at CAM Stadium 35 to 34.  

The Cougars led 28-14 at one point and traded blows all night with 3A Belfry.  

They had a chanced to win it at the end of a 9 yard pass to the end zone was incomplete and Belfry hung on for the win.  

It was the regular season finale so the Cougars finish at 5-5 and could easily have been 9-1 on the season.

Season two, the playoffs, begin this Friday with LCC hosting District 7 third place team, Taylor County, at Cougar Field.

The Cougars lost at Taylor County in the opening game of the playoffs last year.  

Kickoff will be at 7:30pm and we’ll bring you the game here on the Bulldog with Michael Watts and Bull Creech.

The Appalachian Wireless Cougar Countdown Pre-Game Show begins at 7:00pm.

Also this Thursday at 6:00pm, here on the Bulldog we will present a special playoff preview/season celebration for LCC Cougar Football.  

Michael Watts and Bull Creech will be live at the Cougar Fieldhouse with coach Junior Matthews, the seniors and others to get Cougar Nation ready for the playoffs and look back on this special season.
