A Deane man is dead and his wife injured following a single-vehicle crash in Letcher County late Saturday night.
71-year-old Kathy Hall was driving a Lincoln MKZ on Ky. 7 near Colson around 11:52 p.m. while transporting her husband, 72-year-old Eugene Hall, to the hospital for a medical emergency.
According to Kentucky State Police, Eugene Hall became unresponsive during the trip, causing Kathy Hall to lose control of the vehicle.
The car left the roadway, crossed the center line after an overcorrection, and overturned into a creek.
Eugene Hall was pronounced dead at the scene by the Letcher County Coroner’s Office.
Kathy Hall was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
Police say both were wearing seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
