If you see wild pigs around your property, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife
Resources wants to know about it.
Officials say there have been wild pig sightings near Printer and other parts of Floyd County.
They say the pigs are not here naturally – they were illegally released here by hunters who wanted new game but the pigs wreak havoc on the ecosystem.
The pigs are known to drive out huntable game like deer and turkey and they also destroy crops.
And they are reportedly complicated to hunt: Fish and Wildlife says if you shoot into a sounder of pigs, they scatter, are hard to track and breed rapidly.
If you report where they are, the state can work to reduce their numbers.
