Dickenson County Receives Telemedicine Grant

Telemedicine options will soon be available to more patients in Dickenson County. WJHL reports the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority and the Dickenson County Industrial Development Authority have gotten two grants totaling $171,000, one of which will fund expansions to households using telemedicine services and the other for Starlink satellite service linkups to mobile telehealth units so they can reach unserved and underserved areas. Officials say it will bring medical care to people that otherwise would not get it including the ability to provide vaccines, rapid testing, insurance enrollment assistance, follow-up services and more.
