Dickenson County is reportedly getting about $4.5 million in road repairs from the federal government. WYMT reports the Department of Transportation has awarded the money to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to fix the road at the John Flannagan Reservoir. Congressman Morgan Griffith says the John Flannagan Reservoir is an important economic and tourist engine for the region but it was heavily damaged by strong rains and flash flooding. There is no word yet on when the work will start.
