Kentucky Power says it was a downed tree that fell into some power lines that knocked out the power for about 5000 Whitesburg and several other Letcher County residents last night. No word yet on any specific reason the tree came down. Crews worked for several hours to get the lights back on. All power was restored to the county as of 1:08am this morning.
