Kentucky State Police have confirmed that a teenager was killed in a crash Thursday morning on KY-80 in Elkhorn City. They have not released the name, saying only it is a 17-year-old East Ridge High School student who somehow lost control of their SUV around 8:30am, hit an embankment and overturned. WYMT reports the teen was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office. There is no word yet of any other vehicles being involved.
