There’s a new program available for those interested in a career in early childhood education.
Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program – or EKCEP – says they have launched a Registered Apprenticeship Program in early childhood education.
The Hazard Herald reports it’s in partnership with the Kentucky Office of Employer and
Apprenticeship Services, the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood and LKLP Community Action Council Head Start they will provide 12 apprentices with 2,000 hours of paid, on-the-job training, leading to a journey worker credential.
EKCEP calls it a significant advancement in addressing the childcare shortage in Eastern Kentucky.
