Longtime Elkhorn City Mayor Mike Taylor has reportedly announced his resignation. Recently the City Council disclosed the city is more than $300,000 in debt and they hadn’t known because a former City Clerk was “in over her head”. But as WYMT reports, Taylor is catching heat from citizens demanding changes from the Council and Mayor and, when added to the stresses from the 2022 floods, Taylor says he doesn’t want to put his family through the pressures any more. He says he will stay on until April 1 and until then will work with the council to get the city’s finances back in order
