PIKEVILLE, Ky. (June 26, 2025) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 advises the public that KY 7 will be closed at mile point 18.06 in Letcher County near WoodTipple Drive beginning Sunday, June 29, at 7:30 a.m. due to emergency railroad repairs by CSX Transportation.
CSX crews will be replacing damaged rails at the railroad crossing, requiring a full closure of KY 7 at the work site. The road is expected to remain closed through Tuesday morning, July 1, weather permitting.
Detour signage will be posted, and motorists must utilize alternate routes during the closure.
Please do not attempt to bypass barricades and always use caution in the area.
