In another step forward for possibly building a new airport in Letcher County, a representative from the Federal Aviation Administration is coming to Letcher County next week to meet with local officials and engineers. The Mountain Eagle reports the Kentucky Department of Aviation Commissioner and the FAA Memphis Airports District Office Manager will meet with the Airport Board on December 7. Meanwhile Airport Board members are continuing to work on securing more land for runway expansion.
