FEMA Reps Will Be Visiting Flood Damaged Homes and Property the Next Few Days

FEMA representatives are going through Letcher County for the next few days looking at flood damage.

The County Judge Executive says FEMA reps visiting individual homes will have a badge and a vest or a jacket with FEMA written on it.

Meanwhile, Letcher County residents have three more days to report flood damage in person at one of two local intake centers designated by FEMA and Team Kentucky.

The intake centers are at Cane Kitchen on College Drive in Whitesburg and the Colson Fire Department on Hwy 7 in Whitesburg.

They will be there today through Wednesday from 9am to 5pm.

You can also apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling FEMA.

This is just for residents with private property damage such as your home, driveways, or culvert.

There are also now several other Disaster Recovery Centers open as well for all counties affected.

You can go to the Knott County Sportsplex, the Floyd County Board
of Education, Hazard Community College, the Pike Public Library, and the Belfry Public
Library.

Most are open Monday through Saturday 7am-7pm and Sunday 1pm-7pm.
