Fiscal Court Applies for Grants to Develop East Perry Sports Park

There have been some steps forward in planning for an East Perry Sports Park.

At their meeting last week the Perry County Fiscal Court approved two resolutions allowing the County to apply for $2 million in grants to support the development of the park.

The Hazard Herald reports Judge-Executive Scott Alexander said this does not mean the
County has forgotten about the recovery from natural disasters.

He says projects related to water and wastewater issues are already funded and the public will continue to see a lot of that work being done.

But he says with the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel now on those issues, they can now start to plan for quality-of-life projects.
