Five Homes Finished at Hazard Higher Ground Community

The first homes have been completed at a higher ground community in Hazard.

Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman was on hand for a ceremony August 26 at the Sky View
subdivision which is intended for those who lost their homes in the July 2022 flood.

The Hazard Herald reports five of the homes have been finished so far thanks to a
combination of local, state, regional, and federal money.

Officials say the homes are not only built to be affordable but also energy efficient, including the use of solar energy.
