A Wayland man is facing charges for allegedly attacking his mother and her husband.
Investigators allege Jason Allen Martin used a spade to assault the older man first and
when his mother intervened he started hitting her as well.
Mountain Top News reports despite their injuries, the victims were able to drive themselves to McDowell ARH Hospital where police were called.
Martin is charged with two counts of second-degree assault and was being held in the Floyd County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
