A Floyd County student has been charged with Terroristic Threatening for allegedly making a threat at Adams Middle School on Monday.
Floyd County School District officials say they are helping Prestonsburg Police investigate the incident in which the student allegedly made threatening statements to other students that included a plan to bring a gun to school.
The Superintendent says while says no gun was found on school property and no students or staff were in danger, they are following all protocols to ensure the continued security of the school community.
Last week amid a rash of rumors of threats to schools Kentucky State Police and the Department of Education issued a statement saying certain school threats can result in a student getting suspended or expelled, plus it’s a felony which could mean up to 10 years in prison.
